Born and raised in Pomona, CA; the soloist sphere720 started writing at the age of 12Avoiding the violence of the hood and witnessing nearly all of his closest friends either die or end up in jail, he focused on education. By the time he graduated, he started frequenting studios and rockin' freestyle battle contests. He's had the opportunity to open for the Roots, Nonce and share the stage with Del The Funkee Homosapien back in the mid 90's. Well, time has passed and 720 has eagerly awaited his ascension from the depths of the deep beat cave. Keeping focus on Christ and aimed on bringing the gospel through hip hop to the children of today, sphere720 is here. His third full project (but first release), EnginE, highlights the ups and downs of life in general. The 'sparkplugs', as he labels them, are clips of interviews of 720 telling his view on what EnginE really means. And the rest, as they say, the rest is future.

SOLOMON CHILDS ...THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE

In an era where run of the mill rappers come a dime a dozen, artist Solomon Childs sits atop his own throne as possessing one of the most notable and unique voices in all of hip hop. Coming up in the 90’s under the Wu-Tang regime afforded Solomon what seemed to be the opportunity of a lifetime. As the Wu-Tang Clan became the world’s most sought after group, Solomon’s early career was filled with nothing but gold and platinum certified achievement. The New York based emcee scored critical fanfare and praise for his contributions to Cappadonna’s “The Pillage” (Certified Gold), Ghostface Killah’s “Supreme Clientele” (Certified Platinum), Wu-Tang Killah Beez “The Sting” (Certified Gold), and both Wu-Tang Clan front man RZA’s “Bobby Digital” albums (Certified Gold Respectively).
While fueling off the album successes of the late 90’s into the new millennium, Solomon Childs was sought out by fans and critics all over the world who had sung his praises for his unique gutter flow and grimey verbal prowess. Spanning across Europe, Latin America, and throughout Northern America, Solomon made his mark in the physical by performing alongside artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA, Ghostface Killah, Theodore Unit and more while earning the loyalty and respect of a diverse and wide array of fans who cared nothing more than for the art of hip hop and those like Solomon leading at the forefront of the movement.

Black one isn’t limited to just being a “rapper”, he also produces and promotes in a partnership with the collective known as Hometown Heroez, also known as H2. He is also involved in writing as he has done music reviews and commentary for sites such as Arizonabeats.com and Art of rhyme.com. However this is just the tip of the Iceberg, Black one is just now discovering his true potential as not only an artist, but as a media philanthropist, as he continues to expand his horizons and looks towards a brighter future.

The Armory & Blubber Colors present RockHill Entertainment’s 3rd Year Anniversary party bringing the San Diego hip hop community together with an all star lineup featuring: MURS of the Living Legends, Aesop, Phife Dawg of Tribe Called Quest, Dead Prez, Pep Love of Hieroglyphics, Young Reef, K3 and local DJs Artistic, & Mr. Hek On on Friday February 12th at 4th & B in downtown San Diego.

Murs and Aesop are members of the 1990’s California hip hop collective Living Legends. The Legends are considered by some to be “one of the biggest success stories of the indie-rap movement.” The eight founding members went on to have appearances on over 50 albums. Murs latest solo album “Murs for President” received rave reviews in the underground hip hop community as well.

Phife Dawg is a third of the trio A Tribe Called Quest. His rapper name comes from a small flute used in military or marching bands called a “fife”. A Tribe Called Quest was known for their fusion of hip hop & jazz and they left a lasting impression on hip hop music. They released 5 albums in 10 years, and they are known today as one of the pioneers of hip hop music.

Political hip hop duo, Dead Prez, features Stic.man & M-1. Their confrontational & revolutionary style & lyrics have set them apart in the hip hop movement. Their debut album featured a major hit song “Hip Hop” that Dave Chappelle used as his entrance song on his hit show on Comedy Central. Paulo Peacock, aka Pep Love, along with rapper, Del the Funky Homosapien, formed the hip hop collective Hieroglyphics in 1995. Pep Love is known for his lyrical content and jazzy, funky beats.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My pictures come from deep in the gut, they’re raw and visceral. They never pull any punches or worry about offending anyone’s delicate sensibilities. Some of my paintings fail and those are the ones I appreciate the most. My paintings are living daydream and glimpses of a lost childhood. Some of my pictures have been called bummers in bright colors or pop art nightmares. I am from the school of thought similar to Picasso that art should be used as a weapon of warfare, not simply to decorate people’s apartments. Contemporary Vandalism is most important type of postmodern art.
My art is, for the most part, entirely intuitive although my subconscious is obviously constantly being affected by the world around me. Through a dirty esthetic sensibility I attempt to reproduce the feeling of the streets in a densely layered and textured surface which I juxtapose with clean illustrative forms and line work

I found art as a young teenager through the conduit of graffiti. The pure destructive element of graffiti appealed to me. My pastimes up to that point included fist fighting my best friends and throwing rocks and lemons at random cars. Creation always is born from destruction.

Even in the digital age we are still attracted to art. It allows some type of dialogue about feelings and ideas that cannot be expressed verbally. It allows us to briefly touch the supernatural and converse with things that don’t exist.

Named "Independent hip-hop's premiere festival" by SOHH.COM, the festival supports this genre of music where advanced lyricism, stinging political commentary and quality DJ performances flourish in a seemingly parallel universe. The 2010 lineup will feature performances from ICE CUBE, MURS & 9TH WONDER, TECH N9NE, RAEKWON, JAY ELECTRONICA, THA DOGG POUND, DILATED PEOPLES, PSYCHO REALM, NECRO, PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, DEL THA FUNKY HOMOSAPIEN, FREEWAY AND JAKE ONE, RANDOM AXE FEATURING SEAN PRICE, GUILTY SIMPSON AND BLACK MILK, R.A. For the first time in its rich history, PAID DUES will be expanding to two stages hosting over 25 of the most notable and up-and-coming independent artists in hip-hop. Among the talented bill, Raekwon will make his first appearance at PAID DUES. His critically acclaimed 2009 release, "Only Built 4 Cuban Link�Pt. II", debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and was featured on many album of the year lists including Rolling Stone and TIME Magazine. Murs alongside producer, 9th Wonder will also be performing a full set for the first time at PAID DUES. The duo will be performing songs from their latest collaboration, "Fornever" which will be released March 30. Murs adds, "My situation at Warner Brothers Records has kept me on the shelf as far as PAID DUES is concerned. This year, above my excitement as a fan, I'm excited because I finally get to perform at PAID DUES with my brother and long time collaborator, 9th Wonder." As is tradition at Guerilla Union events, special guests and west coast underground hip hop pioneers, Freestyle Fellowship will be performing for the first time in over ten years. Murs shares his excitement, "Another highlight for me is the reunion of Freestyle Fellowship. They were my favorite group growing up. I don't think there has been a more innovative group in the history of hip-hop."
Chang Weisberg of Guerilla Union adds, "Having reached our fifth year in celebrating independent hip-hop, it is overwhelming to have achieved such an amazing milestone. We are extremely thrilled to have been able to realize Murs' dream lineup this year. It is such an honor to be among such talented and passionate artists. This PAID DUES was so special that we had to make bigger and better. This year, fans will get to experience even more independent music having expanded the festival to two stages." PAID DUES is an all-ages show. The Guerilla Union ticket pre-sale will begin on Wednesday, February 3 for registered Guerilla Union members. Tickets will be available via Ticketfly online and at all locations starting Saturday, February 6.

This year's installment of PAID DUES follows the festival's fourth annual Southern California date in 2009 which featured artists such as Atmosphere, Tech N9ne, Living Legends, Brother Ali, B Real, Grouch & Eligh and Cage. 2009 also marked the festival's largest show to date with over 7,000 attendees. In 2008, the sold-out Southern California event featured artists such as Sage Francis, Little Brother, Hieroglyphics, Buckshot of the Boot Camp Clik and Yak Ballz. 2008 also saw the festival make stops in. In 2006 the first PAID DUES festival--with a line-up featuring Felt, Aesop Rock, Living Legends, El-P, Hangar 18 and more--sold out with over 5,000 concert goers packing the Shrine Expo Center in Los Angeles. The following year MURS and Guerilla Union, along with performers Felt, Living Legends, Sage Francis, Brother Ali and others--teamed up again for the PAID DUES festival tour for over ten dates across the country.

This footage was filmed in Minneapolis Minnesota in December 2009 during the period of a trial for a felony assault charge.
Isaiah "Toothtaker" was acquitted and the case was dismissed by the court for lack of evidence.
It was the second case dismissed out of four separate aggravated assault cases.
The joined sentence date for the remaining two cases is February 23 2010...
