The Armory & Blubber Colors present RockHill Entertainment’s 3rd Year Anniversary party bringing the San Diego hip hop community together with an all star lineup featuring: MURS of the Living Legends, Aesop, Phife Dawg of Tribe Called Quest, Dead Prez, Pep Love of Hieroglyphics, Young Reef, K3 and local DJs Artistic, & Mr. Hek On on Friday February 12th at 4th & B in downtown San Diego.

Murs and Aesop are members of the 1990’s California hip hop collective Living Legends. The Legends are considered by some to be “one of the biggest success stories of the indie-rap movement.” The eight founding members went on to have appearances on over 50 albums. Murs latest solo album “Murs for President” received rave reviews in the underground hip hop community as well.

Phife Dawg is a third of the trio A Tribe Called Quest. His rapper name comes from a small flute used in military or marching bands called a “fife”. A Tribe Called Quest was known for their fusion of hip hop & jazz and they left a lasting impression on hip hop music. They released 5 albums in 10 years, and they are known today as one of the pioneers of hip hop music.

Political hip hop duo, Dead Prez, features Stic.man & M-1. Their confrontational & revolutionary style & lyrics have set them apart in the hip hop movement. Their debut album featured a major hit song “Hip Hop” that Dave Chappelle used as his entrance song on his hit show on Comedy Central. Paulo Peacock, aka Pep Love, along with rapper, Del the Funky Homosapien, formed the hip hop collective Hieroglyphics in 1995. Pep Love is known for his lyrical content and jazzy, funky beats.
